PI Financial Raises over $5,600 in Support of Power To Be
Posted by Shannon Gerigs
On May 27, 2018, our team participated in their first Power To Play adventure, a corporate fundraising event that tests teams’ physical and mental limits, in support of Power To Be. Established in 1998, Power To Be is a non-profit organization that helps empower people to explore their limitless abilities through inclusive adventures rooted in nature.
PI's Victoria office team, consisting of Ian Clark, Steve Bokor, Michele Bokor and Shannon Gerigs, faced a professionally designed course through land and water to raise money for this great cause. In addition to sponsoring one of the race day challenges, our team set a goal to raise $5,000 and surpassed that in bringing over $5,600. Through the event, our team paddled, danced, knotted, and finally - in very soggy shoes, completed the final challenge to ring the bell at the finish. More importantly, through the many challenges, we had a lot of fun.
PI thanks Power To Be, their supporters and the army of volunteers who made this event possible. We also thank our clients, families, and friends for their generous donation. With their help, our team raised over $5,600 and helped to raise over $230,000 in support of Power To Be because #EveryoneBelongsInNature.
We look forward to next year’s Power To Play!
Power To Be began in 1998 with an idea: help people living with a disability or barrier access nature. The idea grew into a community, connecting participants to adventures and supporters to opportunities, collectively redefining our definition of ability.
